Websites and Photo Galleries

Digital cameras have changed the face of photography forever. The Internet has changed the way we view and share pictures equally as much. A photo gallery on a website is a very common occurrence theses days. Unfortunately setting up a photo gallery is not always an easy task. There are various scripts available, some very good ones which are free, but most are not very simple to install and configure. There is another solution which can make adding a photo gallery to your website a simple affair.

Digital cameras have made taking pictures a snap for just about anyone. The only problem with digital pictures is showing them off to the world. That’s where the Internet comes in. Put your images up on your website and the problem is solved. The only thing is you have hundreds of pictures and organization now becomes an issue. Manually organizing them quickly becomes time consuming and if changes are needed it can upset the whole structure.

There are various photo gallery script out there that will allow you to organize and display all the images you can dream very neatly and allow for easy re-organization and management as well. There are a couple of good scripts called Coppermine and Gallery. Both are free and are very feature rich. The main drawback of both are they don’t run on just any hosting account and they are somewhat tricky to setup, configure and customize to your liking if you are not the programming type.

If you have a website or a blog and you want a photo gallery consider using Flicker.com and integrating it into your website. Flicker is a free photo sharing website which has made uploading and organizing pictures as easy as it gets. It is easy to link to or embed into an existing website. Just cut and paste the code they supply and you are off to the races. You can literally have a photo gallery up and running in minutes.
